Home Alone Catholics tend toward the absurd at times. In truth, most of us tend to absurdly as a kind of auto-pilot system we fall back on when life confronts us. When what the world calls the Catholic Church is little less than a farce on roller skates parading as the venerable institution of God, we tend to think very little of our everyday lives, that working, having a family, or making conversation with strangers, is absurd and pointless. But that is just where Satan has us stuck in the mud of indifference. That is truly and completely eclipsing the light of the Church. And it isn’t heretics in Rome doing it. It is us.

The truth is, though the Church is reduced to a remnant of believers scattered about the Earth, with no sacramental life to be had by a minister of God in the priesthood, we still are obliged to build up the City of God, that is the New Jerusalem, the Church.

It is a wonder that this slips past our understanding and conscience. We are not less obliged to build up the Kingdom of God because the Church is scattered like sheep without a shepherd. We are more obligated to do so, precisely because our brothers and sisters in Christ need us.

I am in sales. I see lot of people. People who are reprobates, people who are the elect. I have no idea who is who, so I love them all, and when the opportunity arises, I do not hesitate to nudge those I think warm enough to more substantial fire. The Holy Ghost directs me in this. He can direct you, too.

So what are you doing to build up the Kingdom of God? Are you even trying to? The world will end in God’s good time, when the number of the elect is secure, according to Providence. You are the salt the of Earth. You are the light. You are the Body of Christ. You are the means by which God accomplishes His will.

So what are you doing about it?
